INTERNATIONAL
BUDDHIST RIGDZIN COMMUNITY
The international Buddhist Community is an association comprised
of various Buddhist centers under the direction of Rigdzin
Namkha Gyatso Rinpoche. These centers are meeting places,
places of exchange and spiritual practice, whose activities
are open to anyone wishing to know more about Tibetan Buddhism.
Namkha Rinpoche teaches on a regular basis. He transmits
the authentic living wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism in simple
and accessible terms. In particular he teaches on the development
of patience, peace of mind and authentic compassion, applied
to every day life.
NAMKHA
RINPOCHE
Namkha Rinpoche, Tibetan Lama and President of the Rigdzin
Community, was born and grew up in a nomad tent in the highest
of the immense and deserted valleys of Kham. A few months
after his birth, he was recognised as a reincarnation of
a great Tibetan master. Nevertheless, his father, a nomad
and very respected spiritual master, had to give him education
that went with this recognition in secret, fearing the Chinese
oppression against Buddhism and the young tulkus (reincarnated
masters) at that time.
In
1998, he had to leave Tibet, fleeing the dangers of Chinese
repercussions following his public demonstrations of support
for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Since his exile, he has
devoted his life to transmitting the immense richness of
this single tradition which is Tibetan Buddhism to the West.
Today at the age of 41, he lives in Switzerland where, with
his students, he has founded Buddhist centers in Lausanne,
Geneva and Rolle. He teaches regularly in the Netherlands,
Spain, Lithuania, Sweden, Taiwan and the United States.
